smallstrangething in the Railyard Park on Sunday, June 11th, 6-8pm
smallstrangething in the Railyard Park is a site-specific, adaptive, and collaborative piece about water symbols, unconscious thinking, and the desert created with the collaborative efforts of Place Projects and szalt dance co. and with the generous support of the Railyard Park Conservancy and the Railyard Art Project. The piece will take shape in the Santa Fe Railyard Park as a durational installation of movement, sound, and interactive atmosphere.
Through performance and spectacle, smallstrangething is intended to engage the public in critical thought and conversations about themselves in the context of their own and other people’s histories, cultures, and communities.

Place Projects creates opportunities for people to be curious, creative, strong, and strange through group exploration and spectacle. Our aim is to cultivate communities of people who are actively using their minds and bodies to build lives of perpetual inquiry and growth. We are building events and public programs in Los Angeles, California and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Railyard Park Conservancy provides community stewardship and advocacy for the care, educational programming, and public art in the Railyard Park and Plaza. Their vision is to build a vibrant, beautiful, popular and safe community gathering place representing the history, values and aspirations of the people of Santa Fe.
